Christian Dating Advisor proudly presents e-Lesson #15:
After you have written your profile go over it and make sure you don't have any confusing or vague statements. These are statements that:1. are too long, and hard to understand
2. don't get your point across, they just take up a lot of space
3. can be misinterpreted
For example:
"I am not really into sports, nor am I considered to be an outdoor person. I have developed a passing interest in watching football."
or
"I'm not totally into music but I like it sometimes."
or
"I sort of enjoy hiking, but not all of the time."
Don't be wishy washy with your statements... be clear in what you like and what don't like. Try to stay away from words like "sort of, kind of, not totally" and any double negative.
It's okay to have firm likes and dislikes and you sound like a more confident person when you express them in a clear way.
In general you will want to express more likes than dislikes in your profile in order to come across as a more positive person.
Also avoid phrases like "I am different, or unique",especially when you are talking about your appearance (the other person will in all likelihood conjure up images of a three horned monster or a lion tailed monkey).
Well that wraps up the profile pitfalls :)
For our next few lesson we're still going with the topic of profiles but now we're getting into more nitty gritty strategies.
We are going to simply call these Profile Strategy Tips... so stay tuned.
Until the next lesson ,
