Christian Dating Advisor proudly presents e-Lesson #21:

Here are a few things to keep in mind before you start message/e-mail corresponding.

1. Never give your real email address or name during the beginning stages of contact. Lots of online dating services have private e-mail messaging systems you can use.

2. Just remember to rid of any signature lines that may contain your phone number or address if you are using a private e-mail box for correspondence.

3. There are many free email providers such hotmail.com, and yahoo.com, it's a good idea to use one of these to keep your true e-mail a secret.

4. If you start getting any mean, or nasty emails, do not reply to them, or even read them. Just block that e-mail address or filter it straight to the trash. Even if the e-mails make you very angry, it's best just to ignore them.

Now that you're ready to write that first email, or respond to that first e-mail...Here are a few tips:

1. Like we talked about with the headline, the email subject line works similarly. All words must be spelt correctly, it should be creative, positive and genuine.

2. Avoid anything canned or trite. Pick-up lines don't work and you will rarely make a good first impression, or get a response using one.

3. Make sure your e-mail is relaxed and conversational in nature. Pretend as if you are actually talking to the person. Spelling is important, but grammer can be conversational.

4. In first e-mail it's a good idea to mention something about their profile...Something you found interesting or have in common.

5. It's also a great idea to ask them a question or two, it shows that you want to get to know them better. Also include some brief information about yourself.

6. It's OK to flirt or tease a little but keep things light and friendly.

So you follow the above tips and have exchanged several messages/e-mails... next thing you know that other person wants to chat.

Don't panic... we have some great advice for you on this topic in a future lesson.

Until the next lesson ,
