Christian Dating Advisor proudly presents e-Lesson #26:

It's important to stay safe when you're meeting someone for the first time. Here are some meeting safety tips:

1. Meet when you're ready and don't be pressured into meeting.

2. Meet in a well-populated public place.

3. Meet in a place where you're not well known (you don't want your date going back and gathering personal information about you (ie address, full name)

4. Travel independently (revealing where you live, where you're staying or getting into a strange vehicle puts you at risk)

5. Take your cell phone

6. Tell a friend or relative (or both) about your date. (make sure to tell them when you plan on being back and give them your dates phone number)

7. Follow your instincts. If you feel unsafe or unsure of your situation, never be embarrassed or afraid to make your excuses and leave.

8. Never give out personal financial details. Never give or send out money to someone you've just met.

9. If travelling to meet, make your own arrangements for overnight accommodation and don't give out the name or address of your hotel.

In the next issue we'll give you some great first date ideas.
